"Let's Nurture 'Energy Talent' Together... National Busan Science Museum and Korea Southern Power Join Hands"
150 Million Won in Sponsorship Over Five Years for Energy and Carbon Neutrality Education and Science Sharing
A Collaborative Model Between the Science Museum and a Public Energy Corporation to Create Social Value in the Local Community
The National Busan Science Museum and Korea Southern Power have joined hands to nurture future talent in the energy sector.
The National Busan Science Museum (Director Song Samjong) and Korea Southern Power (President Kim Jundong) announced on February 20 that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on February 20 to foster science and technology talent in the fields of energy and carbon neutrality.
This agreement was prepared to cultivate talent that will lead the future energy industry by linking local human and material resources, based on a shared understanding of the importance of revitalizing science education for teenagers.
The two institutions agreed to cooperate on: support and operation of youth science education programs in the fields of energy and carbon neutrality; science sharing and the spread of science culture for underprivileged groups; and the promotion of joint projects to realize social value.
Korea Southern Power will provide a total of 150 million won in sponsorship over the next five years. Based on this support, the National Busan Science Museum plans to develop customized education courses on energy and carbon neutrality and to expand science-sharing programs for marginalized groups.
As the first project under the agreement, the “2026 Youth Energy Leader Support Program” will be operated starting in March. Free education will be provided to 900 middle school students in the Busan area, offering hands-on programs such as wind power generation experiments and exploration of carbon dioxide reduction.
Schools designated under the Education Welfare Priority Support Project will be selected first, in an effort to help close the education gap. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis by email starting on February 23, and further details are available on the National Busan Science Museum website.
