View original imageFor the time being, morning temperatures in Gwangju and most parts of South Jeolla Province will remain below freezing, bringing cold conditions.
According to the Gwangju Regional Office of the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 18th, morning temperatures in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province will stay at 0 degrees Celsius or below through the day after tomorrow (the 20th), with some inland areas dropping to around minus 5 degrees. Winds will also blow somewhat strongly, making it feel even colder.
On the 19th, the morning low is forecast to be between minus 6 and minus 2 degrees, and the daytime high between 6 and 13 degrees.
Through the morning of the day after tomorrow, temperatures will be similar to the seasonal averages (morning lows between minus 4 and 1 degree), but daytime highs are expected to be slightly higher than the seasonal norms (7 to 11 degrees).
In particular, there will be a very large temperature difference between day and night. Through the 19th, the difference will be at least 10 degrees (around 15 degrees in eastern South Jeolla), and on the 20th many areas will see gaps of 15 degrees or more, so people should prepare for rapid temperature changes.
The air is also gradually becoming drier. The Korea Meteorological Administration urged people to be especially careful to prevent wildfires and other fires, as dry conditions are expected mainly in eastern South Jeolla Province.

An official at the Gwangju Regional Office of the Korea Meteorological Administration said, "For the time being, cold mornings and mild afternoons will continue," adding, "Please pay attention to health care, including weakened immunity during the change of seasons."
