Gwangju University announced on the 12th that it has been selected as a final certified university in the "2025 International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS) and Survey on the Recruitment and Management of International Students" organized by the Ministry of Education.
In accordance with the announcement on the implementation of the 2025 International Education Quality Assurance System and the Survey on the Recruitment and Management of International Students, the Ministry of Education reviewed the materials submitted by each university, and released the final results on this day after the final deliberation by the International Education Quality Assurance Committee.
The International Education Quality Assurance System is a program designed to enhance the qualitative level and international credibility of Korean higher education by selecting universities with strong capabilities in attracting outstanding international students and managing them in a systematic manner. Each year, the Ministry of Education conducts a comprehensive inspection of the status of international student recruitment and management, and grants certification to universities that meet certain standards. The certification granted this time is valid for four years, until February 2030.
Gwangju University obtained certification in recognition of its excellence in its overall management system, including international student recruitment, academic and campus-life support, and prevention and management of student dropouts. This is evaluated as the result of the university’s continuous efforts to strengthen its internationalization capacity.
