President Lee Jaemyung is sending tableware and home-cooked meal ingredients as gifts to people from all walks of life for the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Blue House announced on the 4th that, as President Lee's Lunar New Year gift, it has specially produced bowls and spoons engraved with the presidential phoenix emblem. Along with these, rice, brown rice, glutinous sorghum, glutinous millet, sliced rice cake for tteokguk, seaweed fulvescens, sliced shiitake mushrooms, and traditional soy sauce have been prepared as gifts. These eight ingredients are produced in the 5 Guk 3 Teuk regions, reflecting the President's intention to promote balanced regional development and mutual growth and integration between regions.
The Blue House explained, "The gifts embody the President's wish that a comfortable home-cooked meal will become part of daily life, and that a simple yet warm meal will bring peace and comfort to everyone's lives."
The recipients include key figures who have worked together for national development and the stabilization of people's livelihoods, patriotic heroes who have devoted themselves to the country, and members of socially disadvantaged groups who have maintained hope despite difficult circumstances. In particular, the spouses of democracy merit honorees and war veterans have newly been included among the gift recipients.
