[Market Highlight] KRAFTON Rises 6.92% on Expectations of First-Quarter Earnings Surprise
KRAFTON, the game company expected to deliver a first-quarter earnings surprise this year thanks to the strong performance of Peacekeeper Elite (the Chinese version of Battlegrounds), is seeing its stock price rise.
As of 10:32 a.m. on January 26, KRAFTON was trading at 255,000 won, up 16,500 won (6.92%) from the previous trading day.
Mirae Asset Securities stated on this day, "The current stock price reflects excessive concerns over the weak performance in the fourth quarter of last year." The firm maintained its 'Buy' investment rating and raised its target price from 380,000 won to 390,000 won.
Heeseok Lim, a researcher at Mirae Asset Securities, said, "Since promotions normalized in January, we have observed a sharp rebound in sales for Peacekeeper Elite in China. According to Sensor Tower iOS data, the average daily revenue for Peacekeeper Elite in January is estimated to be more than double that of the fourth quarter of last year."

Researcher Lim added, "The weak fourth-quarter performance was due to one-off factors, so now is the time to look forward to a first-quarter earnings surprise." "Depending on the outcome of the upcoming Peacekeeper Elite focus update scheduled for next month, there is also potential for further upward revision," he said.
