Apparel Sponsorship Deal Marks LPGA Debut This Year

'Assault Leader' Hwang Yumin will take to the U.S. stage with the 'Lucky Cat' emblem on her chest.
On January 5, Madcathos, the golf apparel brand of global sports content company Waktee, announced that it has signed an apparel sponsorship contract with Hwang Yumin. Madcathos stated, "Hwang Yumin will serve as a global ambassador for Madcathos alongside Shin Ji-ae and Yang Yong-eun," and added, "The addition of Hwang Yumin, a next-generation icon, will be a significant turning point in Madcathos's women's tour and global expansion strategy."

Despite her small stature, she is known for her powerful drives and aggressive play, displaying a bold playing style. She has won the KLPGA Popularity Award for two consecutive years.
Last year, Hwang Yumin won the Lotte Championship on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour as a sponsor's invitee, and this year she will move her playing career to the LPGA Tour. She stated, "Not only the design, but also the performance will be beneficial," and added, "Just as Madcathos's brand identity is 'crazy immersion,' I will also show great performances this year through my own 'crazy immersion' in golf."

Hwang Yumin will compete in the LPGA Tour season opener, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, to be held on January 29 (local time) in Orlando, Florida. This is a champions-only event featuring last year's tournament winners. The defending champion is Kim A-lim.
