City: "Driving Market Revitalization and Local Economic Recovery"

View original imageThis lease announcement for the Distribution Complex Market comes as the lease periods for stores such as the Livestock Processing Complex, oriental medicine clinics, and auto repair shops are set to expire on December 31, 2025. The city aims to attract new small businesses and SMEs by offering opportunities through a selective competitive bidding process, which is open to current tenants and small business owners with prior business experience within the Distribution Complex Market.
Meanwhile, the Livestock Processing Complex, which is included in this lease announcement, has not been remodeled since its opening in 1998, leaving the facility significantly outdated after about 25 years. Despite an increase in market visitors following the opening of Lotte Mart Guri Branch on June 26, the Livestock Processing Complex continues to be overlooked. As a result, the city announced plans to pursue remodeling in 2026.
Guri City stated, "This selective competitive bidding is not simply about recruiting tenants, but is a measure to restore the market's functions and protect the business foundation of local small business owners." The city also emphasized, "We will actively promote the policy announced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in September 2025 to alleviate the rental burden on small business owners through shared property leases as a response to the economic downturn." The city added, "We will continue to provide systematic support to revitalize the market and restore commercial activity, including attracting large-scale meat restaurants."
