Each event was held at various venues across Jeonnam, and a safe competition environment was ensured through cooperation between schools and sports organizations. In particular, the open participation format and the wide range of sports options available set this year’s competition apart from previous editions.
Additionally, for 10 sports including soccer and taekwondo, the event also served as the Jeonnam representative selection trial for the 55th National Youth Sports Festival to be held next year, providing an opportunity to assess athletic performance and establish a foundation for early identification of promising athletes.
Kim Daejung, Superintendent of Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, stated, “School sports are an important educational activity that helps each student grow and expand their talents. I hope this competition will allow students to build a sense of achievement and confidence, and become a stepping stone for leading healthy lives through sports.”
He added, “We will continue to actively support improvements to the school sports environment so that students can participate in sports activities safely and enjoyably.”
