Busan Transportation Corporation Introduces New Transfer Music and Announcements Chosen by Citizens
Introduction of "Wind of the Sea" and KNN announcer Lee Haeri's voice
Transfer announcements to be replaced next month, reflecting citizen feedback
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) is currently in the process of replacing its transfer announcement system by introducing a new transfer background music, "Wind of the Sea," and the voice guidance of announcer Lee Haeri from KNN, who serves as the corporation's exclusive voice talent. This decision follows the results of a citizen vote held in August. The replacement work is scheduled to be completed by next month.
"Wind of the Sea" is an original Korean traditional music piece created as a talent donation by the National Gugak Center in Busan and Professor Lee Jungho of the Department of Korean Music at Pusan National University. The piece expresses the refreshing sea breeze and the history and identity of Busan with a modern sensibility. In the citizen vote, it received 1,635 votes (46%), making it the final selection for the new transfer music.
The voice for the announcement will be provided by KNN announcer Lee Haeri, who received the highest support in the citizen preference poll with 1,756 votes (49.4%). The corporation expects that applying a familiar and trustworthy local voice will enhance the quality and consistency of the announcements, thereby improving the passenger experience.
Since the introduction of the new transfer music and voice guidance, the corporation has been closely monitoring public feedback. Positive responses have included comments such as, "The lively rhythm makes it easy to recognize transfer stations," and, "It strongly reflects Busan's local characteristics." To minimize inconvenience, the corporation is also continuously adjusting the sound based on citizen feedback.
