Daejeon Fire Headquarters Holds Public Demonstration of Eight High-Performance Firefighting Vehicles to Modernize Disaster Response
Unmanned Demolition Water Cannon Vehicle and Rough Terrain Pump Truck Unveiled
Two Additional Small Ladder Trucks to Be Introduced by 2026
On the morning of November 25, the Daejeon Fire Headquarters held a public demonstration of eight units of "high-performance firefighting equipment" at Daejeon City Hall to modernize disaster response.
This demonstration was organized to effectively respond to increasingly complex disaster environments, such as large-scale fires and wildfires. The event showcased the actual operation of high-performance equipment and reaffirmed the city's commitment to strengthening public safety.
The event was attended by Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo, relevant public officials, citizens, and members of the media. The program included a briefing on the background and achievements of introducing high-performance fire trucks, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, demonstrations of advanced vehicle functions, and a ride-along experience.
During the demonstration, a total of eight vehicles were unveiled, including the recently introduced unmanned demolition water cannon vehicle, a 70-meter high ladder truck, a rough terrain pump truck, and a multi-purpose vehicle for the volunteer fire brigade.
In particular, features such as long-distance water discharge enabled by powerful pump performance, smart control systems, and the ability to access rough terrain-functions proven effective in real disaster sites-were introduced in real time, drawing significant interest from attendees.
Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo stated, "In an era when disasters are becoming larger and more complex, a response system that combines high-performance equipment with real-world experience is essential. We will continue to modernize firefighting equipment and strengthen our response capabilities to protect the lives and property of our citizens."
