Hanwha Eagles to Host 40th Anniversary 'Fireworks Show'
Daejeon City Implements Comprehensive Safety and Traffic Measures
Blankets and Mats Prohibited for Attendees
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Hanwha Eagles, the "Hanwha Eagles 40th Anniversary Multimedia Fireworks Show" will be held at 7:00 p.m. on November 30 along the Expo Bridge area by the Gapcheon River.
Daejeon City is making every effort to ensure the safe execution of the fireworks show.
This large-scale festival will begin with an official ceremony at 7:00 p.m., followed by a 10-minute drone show at 7:15 p.m., and then a 15-minute multimedia fireworks display. While the organizers estimate that around 50,000 people will attend the event, the city has prepared comprehensive safety measures to accommodate up to 300,000 people.
On the day of the event, a total of approximately 1,300 personnel-including safety staff, police, firefighters, and volunteers-will be deployed on site to ensure public safety.
In particular, additional safety management personnel will be assigned to areas expected to experience congestion, such as bridges, riverbanks, and roads. A comprehensive on-site situation room will be set up at Hanbit Tower Square to enable real-time coordination with police, fire, traffic, and environmental agencies.
Through these measures, the city aims to prevent even a single safety incident. Citizens attending the event are advised to dress warmly for the cold weather and are asked not to use mats or blankets.
To minimize traffic congestion associated with the event, the city will restrict access to the entire Expo-ro from Shinsegae Department Store to Daejeon Convention Center (DCC), as well as the Science Bridge and Expo Bridge, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Pedestrian roads on Dunsan Bridge and Daedeok Bridge will be partially restricted.
Additionally, city buses that normally pass through Expo-ro within the event area will be rerouted. Citizens are strongly encouraged to use public transportation to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow.
