Recruitment of Resident Artists for the 2026 Gongju Cultural Arts Village Residency Program
Open to All Fields of Visual Arts Including Painting, Sculpture, Crafts, Video, and Multidisciplinary Arts

The Gongju Cultural Arts Village, operated by the Gongju Cultural Tourism Foundation, announced on November 24 that it will publicly recruit the 10th cohort of resident artists for its 2026 residency program. The foundation will select creators and researchers from all fields of visual arts, providing each with a private studio for 11 months, exhibition support, material expenses, and other top-tier creative benefits.
The Gongju Cultural Arts Village serves as a creative and production space for artists and researchers, supporting stable creative activities through the provision of workspaces and the operation of its residency program.
The recruitment fields include all genres of visual arts: painting, Korean ink painting, sculpture, crafts, printmaking, video, and multidisciplinary arts. Researchers such as art critics, theorists, and independent curators are also eligible to apply.
The number of selected participants will be up to eight. Eligible applicants must be at least 19 years old as of the announcement date, possess Korean nationality, and have at least three years of experience in the visual arts or research field.
Interested applicants can submit their applications online via webhard from November 25 until 4:00 p.m. on December 1.
Successful candidates from the document screening will be announced on December 11, with interviews scheduled for December 16. The final list of selected artists will be posted on the Gongju Cultural Tourism Foundation website on December 19.
The selected resident artists will participate in the program for a total of 11 months, from February 1 to December 31, 2026. Each artist will be provided with a private studio and receive benefits such as participation in creative support programs, support for group exhibitions of resident artists, material expenses for exhibitions, and promotional support for their achievements during the residency.
