Hyundai Motor Company announced on November 20 that it has been ranked first in the automotive sector for the tenth consecutive year in the "2025 China Corporate Social Responsibility Development Index Evaluation" released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

View original imageThis evaluation is regarded as the most prestigious and influential CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) indicator in China. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences annually announces rankings based on a comprehensive assessment of companies' CSR management status and the level of information disclosure.
Since 2016, Hyundai Motor Company has maintained its position as the top automotive company for ten consecutive years and ranked second among foreign-invested companies. In the overall ranking of all companies in China, it has placed third for five consecutive years. In this year’s evaluation, Hyundai Motor Company received high recognition for its continuous strengthening of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management in China and for actively carrying out a variety of social contribution activities tailored to Chinese society.
Hyundai Motor Company established ESG evaluation standards specific to China in 2021 and has been continuously strengthening detailed requirements in line with local conditions. Since 2023, the company has conducted written assessments based on Hyundai Motor Company's global ESG diagnostic standards at major subsidiaries in China. Starting this year, it has also begun on-site inspections at major production subsidiaries in China, further reinforcing the internalization of ESG management.
Hyundai Motor Company was also highly rated for the results of its long-term, locally tailored social contribution activities. Since 2008, the company has been carrying out the "Hyundai Green Zone" project to prevent desertification in the Inner Mongolia region. This year, it undertook a restoration project targeting approximately 2.33 million square meters of severely degraded grassland and supported the development of tourism resources and the creation of eco-friendly guesthouse villages in depopulated rural areas through environmentally friendly rural development projects.
In addition, since 2020, Hyundai Motor Company has operated the "Youth Startup Support Center," supporting the discovery and nurturing of 88 startups to date. The company has also been running the "Dream Classroom" sponsorship program since 2011, supporting 96 elementary schools in underdeveloped regions.
