Sancheong County Completes 'Following the Donguibogam Waterway' Siori-gil Development Project
Walking and Cycling Paths Along the Gyeongho River
Development of Eumnae Nadeul-gil and Majung-gil Trails
Sancheong-gun, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on the 19th that it has completed the "Following the Donguibogam Waterway, Following the Scent of the Herbal Village - Donguibogam Siori-gil Development Project."
The Donguibogam Siori-gil Development Project was launched after being selected in 2020 for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's regional development project tailored support program. A total project budget of 3.3 billion won (2 billion won from the national government and 1.3 billion won from local funds) was invested.
As part of the project, a 1.26-kilometer walking and cycling path was constructed along the Gyeongho River, connecting Sancheong-eup and Donguibogam Village. Viewing platforms and rest facilities were also installed, providing a foundation for visitors to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery and the town of Sancheong-eup.
Additionally, the Eumnae Nadeul-gil and Majung-gil routes were developed as themed walking trails spanning 2.34 kilometers, connecting Maechonchangju, Sancheong-eup Intercity Bus Terminal, Sancheong Market, and the village maintenance-type apartment project. This improved the pedestrian environment and created enjoyable walking streets.
In particular, by linking the Sancheong-eup walking trail, the 100-ri Gyeongho River Trail, the Sancheong-eup Our Neighborhood Revitalization Project (Sangbong, Sucheong), and the Anti-Aging Sandeul-gil, the county has established a new landmark. This laid the groundwork for both residents and tourists to use the area.
