Presidential Citation Awarded to Kim Youngsu, Chief of Yeongdeok County Wildfire Response Team

Kim Youngsu (58), the wildfire response chief of Yeongdeok County, Gyeongsangbuk-do, received a Presidential Citation at the "2025 Forest Disaster Merit Awards Ceremony" held by the Korea Forest Service on the 14th.

Yeongdeok County Fire Chief Kim Youngsu received a Presidential Citation on the 14th.

Chief Kim has served on the Yeongdeok County wildfire response team for 10 years, contributing to the protection of local forests through swift and systematic wildfire response.

In addition, Chief Kim has consistently taken the lead in establishing a field-oriented wildfire response culture by thoroughly conducting wildfire prevention patrols, maintaining firefighting equipment, and providing safety training for new team members.

In particular, he was recognized for his significant contribution as the wildfire response chief of Yeongdeok County during the massive wildfire that broke out in Uiseong at the end of March, which is considered a key reason for this award.

Chief Kim Youngsu stated, "This citation is thanks to the sweat and dedication of every member of the Yeongdeok County wildfire response team. I will continue to do my best to protect the safety of our residents and our green forests."
