Hana Card, which received the Asia Business Daily Representative Award in the Leader Development category at the 10th Asia Gender Equality Index Awards, was recognized for its outstanding efforts in fostering strategic leadership at the group level.

View original imageTo begin with, the board of directors includes two female outside directors out of four, achieving balance and diversity at the highest leadership level. This is the highest ratio among the 37 financial companies surveyed for the Gender Equality Index. In addition, Hana Card has maintained gender balance in new recruitment and the proportion of women in management positions has exceeded 30%.
Since 2021, Hana Financial Group has been operating the “Hana WAVEs” program, designed to develop female leaders. Each year, about 30 prospective female leaders at the branch manager level are selected from within the group to receive systematic training, coaching, and mentoring from previous participants, strategically nurturing future leaders. Over the past four years, a total of 120 female leaders have completed the program.

Furthermore, Hana Card is actively expanding its commitment to diversity and inclusion by investing 2 billion KRW in the 20 billion KRW “Hana Financial Group Value Growth Fund,” which was established to support female-led ventures and startups, thereby contributing to the creation of a gender-equal entrepreneurial ecosystem.
