Daekyo Swings to Loss in Q3... "Impact of Increased Investment in New Businesses"

Daekyo reported a loss in the third quarter.
On November 3, Daekyo announced that its consolidated sales for the third quarter of this year amounted to 160.6 billion KRW, with an operating loss of 30 million KRW. Compared to the same period last year, sales decreased by 4.9%, and operating profit turned from positive to negative. Net profit also turned to a loss, recording a net loss of 600 million KRW.
A Daekyo representative explained, "The company posted a loss due to increased costs associated with senior product development and the launch of new businesses."
In response to market changes, Daekyo has introduced new initiatives such as the 'Noonnoppi Little One Reading Club' to expand its presence in the early childhood reading market and the 'Daekyo Study Club' targeting senior customers, aiming to broaden customer touchpoints and implement differentiated strategies.

In the fourth quarter, Daekyo plans to continue its business diversification strategy by: ▲ fully launching the 'Noonnoppi Study Room Kids' business ▲ operating the 'Daekyo Study Club' for senior customers ▲ expanding its foreign language assessment business centered on 'Daekyo Language Square', among other initiatives.
