National Police Agency Holds Ceremony for 68th Anniversary of '112 Day'
The National Police Agency announced on November 3 that it held the ceremony for the 68th anniversary of 112 Day.
The ceremony was held under the theme "112 is Always by the People’s Side" and included the following events: introduction and awarding of the winners of the Proper 112 Reporting Contest, presentation of the Citizen Appreciation Plaque for outstanding collaboration with 112, commendations for related agencies handling emergency reports, awards for the best on-site response police stations and 112 personnel of the year, the release of a collection of outstanding 112 case studies, and a commemorative address.
The police plan to continuously upgrade the 112 reporting system and promote the transition to a future-oriented public safety system, including the establishment of a next-generation 112 system based on artificial intelligence (AI).

Yu Jaeseong, Acting Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, stated, "112 has diligently monitored and responded to the concerns and inconveniences of the public, and for 68 years, has fulfilled its mission of safeguarding public safety 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without a single moment of rest."
