The Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea operates the digital library "Onchaekbang" so that users can access e-books in various locations such as at home, school, work, or on public transportation. Users can search for "Onchaekbang" on the Onchaekbang digital library website or through the Kyobo Book Centre digital library application to use the service.
Onchaekbang is a service that allows any citizen to borrow up to three e-books and two audiobooks per month for free for 14 days after registering as a member. Currently, Onchaekbang offers approximately 160,000 types of e-books and audiobooks and operates a monthly book recommendation service that reflects recent trends. The Onchaekbang service will be available until December 19, 2025, but may end earlier if the budget is exhausted.
Through Onchaekbang, users can directly experience the advantages of digital reading, such as portability and accessibility. Convenient features such as full-text search, highlighting, notes, and bookmarks in e-books make reading easier. E-books allow users to freely adjust font size and screen brightness, while audiobooks offer customizable playback speed and skipping options for a personalized experience. In addition, by linking with "Seojeom On," a local bookstore website, users can easily access information about nearby bookstores and libraries, further enhancing convenience.
From November 10 to December 19, 2025, an "Onchaekbang User Experience Survey Event" will be held. Participants who leave reviews and feedback about their experience with Onchaekbang will be entered into a drawing to win book culture gift certificates.
