View original imageGokseong County in South Jeolla Province, led by Governor Jo Sangrae, announced on October 26 that it is participating in the "2025 International Agriculture Expo" held at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services for seven days until October 29, promoting the region's outstanding agricultural specialty products to a wider audience.
At the expo, the county is operating a promotional and sales booth for agricultural specialty products, showcasing a variety of processed goods as well as local representative crops such as taro, wasabi, and melon. Visitors can also purchase these products directly on-site.
In particular, popular items such as taro nurungji chips, pickled wasabi, and scoop cookies are being exhibited and sold, attracting many visitors. The promotional booth also offers a roulette event for visitors, providing various prizes and adding to the enjoyment.
At the outdoor promotional booth, tasting events and interactive activities are being held for visitors. Attendees can sample dishes such as taro cheese rice cakes, taro heart rice cakes, and wasabi rice balls, all made from Gokseong’s signature crops. The roulette event, which offers prizes, is also receiving a positive response. The booth is designed as a culinary experience space that introduces Gokseong’s agricultural products, including taro, in a friendly way, allowing visitors to naturally discover their unique flavors and appeal.
A county official stated, "We hope that many visitors to the expo will taste and enjoy Gokseong’s taro, wasabi, melon, and other specialty products, and come to appreciate the value of our local agriculture. We will continue to enhance the brand competitiveness of Gokseong’s agricultural products and strive to help increase farmers’ income."
