Starbucks Expands 'Slow Mailbox' to 10 Stores Nationwide
Expansion of Slow Mailbox Installations and One-Year Delivery
Postcard Giveaway for Personal Cup Users Until October 26
Starbucks Korea announced on October 23 that it has expanded its operation of the 'Slow Mailbox' to 10 stores nationwide.
A Starbucks representative explained, "We decided to expand the operation so that many customers can once again experience the analog sentiment that has been fading in the digital era, as well as recall memories from the past year."
The newly participating stores operating the Slow Mailbox include Gyeongju Bomun, Gwangneung Arboretum, Gwangju Jisan Amusement Park Entrance, Daegu Apsan Sky Town, The Bukhan River R, Seoul Tower, Yangsan Tongdosa, and Chuncheon Gubongsan R. Actual mailboxes have been installed in collaboration with Korea Post.
Starbucks will present a postcard featuring its signature character, Bearista, to customers who post photos taken at the store’s photo zone or photos using personal cups at the store on social networking services (SNS) with the hashtags #Starbucks, #StoreVisited, and #EnvironmentFoundation.
Completed postcards can be placed in the Slow Mailbox located at each store and will be delivered free of charge to the address written on them one year later. The provided postcards are made from recycled paper containing 30% milk cartons, including those collected from Starbucks stores in the Daejeon area, adding significance in terms of resource circulation and environmental protection.
In addition, all Starbucks stores nationwide are holding the 'Eco Star Fall Challenge' until October 26 to celebrate the autumn season, which is perfect for outings. Customers who order beverages using personal cups during this period will receive an upcycled milk carton postcard.
