Governor Kim Jintae Sends Congratulations to Hwang Sunwoo, Kim Woo-min, and Other Swimmers for Setting New National Records at the National Sports Festival
On October 22, Governor Kim Jintae sent a congratulatory message celebrating the new Korean records set by athletes Hwang Sunwoo, Kim Woo-min, Yang Jaehoon, and Kim Youngbeom in the 400m medley relay, as well as Hwang Sunwoo's individual 200m medley at the National Sports Festival.

View original imageThe Gangwon Provincial Government swimming team fielded 14 athletes in 22 swimming events at the National Sports Festival. As of October 21, the team had secured a total of 23 medals (12 gold, 6 silver, and 5 bronze), leading the effort to maintain the province’s 7th place overall ranking.
In particular, the men's 400m medley relay team set a new Korean record with a time of 3 minutes 11.52 seconds. Hwang Sunwoo also demonstrated outstanding performance by setting a new Asian record in the 200m freestyle (1 minute 43.92 seconds) and a new Korean record in the individual 200m medley (1 minute 57.66 seconds).
Governor Kim Jintae stated, "I sincerely congratulate Hwang Sunwoo, Kim Woo-min, Yang Jaehoon, and Kim Youngbeom on setting a new Korean record in the 400m medley relay, as well as Hwang Sunwoo for his new Korean record in the individual 200m medley. I am truly proud and impressed by all the athletes who have demonstrated the strength of Gangwon swimming with their flawless teamwork."
In response to Governor Kim's congratulatory message, Hwang Sunwoo and the other Gangwon Provincial Government swimming team members expressed their gratitude, saying, "We deeply appreciate your warm congratulations. The interest and support from the governor and the people of the province gave us great strength in achieving these records."
