Gyeonggi Province Expands Monthly Childcare Subsidy for Foreign Children to 150,000 Won
Gyeonggi Province will increase the monthly childcare subsidy for children of foreign nationals from 100,000 won to 150,000 won starting this month.
Since 2023, Gyeonggi Province has provided a monthly childcare subsidy of 100,000 won to children of foreign nationals aged 0 to 5 who attend daycare centers in the province, so that all children can grow up in a stable childcare environment without discrimination.
However, due to recent increases in the cost of living and childcare fees, the province has decided to raise the subsidy amount by 50,000 won per month to ease the financial burden on foreign families.
The eligibility criteria remain unchanged. The subsidy is available to registered foreign infants and toddlers aged 0 to 5 who attend daycare centers in the province, provided both the child and the guardian have resided in Gyeonggi Province for at least 90 days.
Guardians can receive the subsidy by submitting the childcare subsidy application form and proof of foreign registration to the daycare center, and by making payments with the National Happiness Card after it has been issued.
