Gyeongju City Officially Launches "Companion Dog Patrol Team"... First 27 Teams Selected
Citizen-Driven Volunteer Service
Building a Community Safety Network
Gyeongju City announced on the 29th that it recently held the inauguration ceremony for the "Gyeongju City Companion Dog Patrol Team" at The-K Hotel Querencia, officially launching a citizen participation-based safety initiative involving companion dogs.
The "Gyeongju City Companion Dog Patrol Team" is a volunteer activity that combines crime prevention patrols and public interest reporting with dog-walking activities. It is operated through the voluntary participation of citizens.
On September 7, Gyeongju City conducted on-site evaluations that comprehensively assessed command obedience, response to people and other dogs, and patrol attitude, ultimately selecting 27 teams.
The patrol teams selected on this day conducted joint patrols to prevent safety accidents and ran a "Petiquette" promotional campaign at the site of the "2025 Gyeongju Companion Dog Festival" prior to the inauguration ceremony on the 27th. Afterwards, they received appointment certificates and took commemorative photos.
Going forward, the Companion Dog Patrol Team will carry out individual patrols to inspect and report daily inconveniences and hazardous facilities during regular walks, as well as conduct joint patrols with the Gyeongju Police Station at major event venues and in areas vulnerable to crime within the city.
