Venture companies in Gwangju and Jeonnam gathered to discuss internal controls and data security.
The Gwangju Jeonnam Venture Business Association held the 25th Gwangju Jeonnam Venture Forum at the Ramada Plaza Gwangju Hotel on the afternoon of September 9. Co-hosted with the Gwangju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency, the Jeonnam Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency, and the Energy Valley Enterprise Development Institute, the event was attended by more than 80 participants, including local small and venture business leaders and heads of related organizations.

View original imageThe first lecture was delivered by attorney Kim Jungwon from Namsan Law Office, under the theme "Corporate Internal Control Systems and Due Diligence for Investment, M&A, and IPO." Kim emphasized that "internal control is not just about regulatory compliance, but is central to a company's credibility and value," and introduced real cases where the lack of internal controls determined the success or failure of companies during the listing process.
Next, Kim Deokryang, CEO of Jjintech, presented "Utilizing Immutable Storage to Prevent Ransomware and Manage Data in the AI Era." Kim highlighted recent ransomware incidents affecting major companies, warning that it is "a survival risk for all businesses." He also proposed security and recovery strategies using WORM (Write Once Read Many) technology, stating, "Ensuring data integrity is essential to earning the trust of investors and customers."
The event was attended by Park Jongchan, head of the Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, as well as other key local institution leaders, who congratulated the forum. Park stated, "The Gwangju Jeonnam Venture Forum serves as a stepping stone for the growth of local companies," and added, "Our office will continue to provide support."

Kim Hyunsoo, president of the association, remarked, "Internal control and data security are essential for a company's survival and advancement," and pledged, "We will create opportunities for local venture companies to build global competitiveness and continue to grow." The association plans to continue offering programs to expand investment networks and explore growth strategies.
