Gwangju Donggu to Hold "Car-Free Street" on September 3 Ahead of World Archery Championships Eve
Geumnam-ro 2-ga, from NH Investment & Securities to Geumnam Building
Open from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Gwangju Donggu District announced on September 1 that it will open the "Geumnam-ro Car-Free Street" on September 3 in conjunction with the eve of the Gwangju 2025 World Archery Championships.
The Geumnam-ro Car-Free Street is a pilot project aimed at creating a people-centered urban space rather than one focused on cars. Launched in March this year, it has attracted an average of about 20,000 citizens per month, who enjoy various games and cultural experiences on roads free of vehicles.
On September 3, the Geumnam-ro Car-Free Street will operate in the Geumnam-ro 2-ga area (from NH Investment & Securities to Geumnam Building), with operating hours from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
This event will focus on promoting the "Geumnam-ro Car-Free Street" through a photo exhibition featuring images from events held between March and August, as well as an event where visitors who upload photos taken at the photo zone to social media will receive small prizes.
