View original imageYeongam County in South Jeolla Province has completed the "Old Building Number Plate Maintenance Project," which was implemented to enhance residents' convenience and safety.
The county replaced 2,558 building number plates, all of which had been installed for over 10 years, free of charge. Building number plates are essential infrastructure that affect various aspects of residents' daily lives, including postal delivery and emergency response.
The county proactively undertook the maintenance to improve location guidance accuracy and support swift response. From January to June this year, Yeongam conducted a comprehensive survey to identify damaged or missing plates and selected replacement targets based on civil complaints received.
The newly installed plates feature QR codes that provide voice guidance for road addresses when scanned with a smartphone. Additionally, they are equipped with emergency call buttons for 112 and 119, enabling immediate reporting in urgent situations.
