Artist Company Signs Co-Production Agreement with Studio&NEW for Three Drama Series
On August 18, Artist Company, a comprehensive content company, announced that it has signed a co-production agreement with Studio&NEW, the content production subsidiary of content media group NEW (Next Entertainment World), for three drama series. This agreement is a strategic move aimed at expanding the scale of its content production business and diversifying its revenue models. It is expected to accelerate Artist Company's transformation into an IP-based content company.
The three co-produced titles are: ▲Yalmiun Love (tvN, scheduled to air in the second half of 2025), ▲Good Partner Season 2, and ▲The Essence of Soju. Among these, Yalmiun Love has drawn attention from the planning stage, as it stars Artist Company actors Lee Jungjae and Lim Jiyeon in the lead roles.
This co-production is structured to combine Artist Company's actor IP and planning capabilities, the production execution capabilities of its affiliate Artist Studio, and Studio&NEW's production management expertise. Artist Company will be substantially involved in every stage from planning and production to distribution. In particular, by taking a leading role in all core aspects of content production, Artist Company aims to strengthen the competitiveness of its content IP and maximize its monetization potential.
Based on the high viewership ratings of the recent ENA drama Salon de Holmes, Artist Company has identified content investment and production as a key growth driver. This agreement is part of a strategy to secure and structure IP-centric content assets from a long-term perspective.
Shin Daesik, Head of Content Production Business at Artist Company, stated, "This co-production goes beyond simple outsourcing or equity participation. Artist Company will directly lead an integrated production model from content planning to production." He added, "Leveraging our planning capabilities centered on actor IP, our experience in content commercialization, branding and marketing execution capabilities, and global network, we will strategically expand content value and establish a mid- to long-term revenue base to achieve sustainable growth."
He further commented, "This agreement will serve as the starting point for executing a mid- to long-term strategy to enhance corporate value, rather than focusing on short-term performance."
This agreement is also seen as a meaningful step forward in securing creative IP and strengthening export competitiveness as a private content company, aligning with the government's 'K-Content Industry Development Strategy' and the broader push for global expansion.
