By August 8, the county had distributed safety and health supplies to 95 sanitation workers, including cooling vests, safety helmets with fans, and 300 bottles of water. In addition, the county has implemented a flexible work schedule that limits outdoor working hours by township during heatwaves, ensuring workers' right to rest.
These measures are part of a proactive response to prevent heat-related illnesses such as heatstroke, as heatwave warnings with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius continue.
Kim Daein, acting governor of Shinan County, stated, "We are strengthening preventive measures to ensure that heat-related illnesses do not lead to serious accidents," adding, "We will listen to the concerns of sanitation workers and provide active support so they can work in a comfortable environment."
