Free Testing for 463 Types of Pesticide Residues and Heavy Metals
Available to Local Farmers at No Cost
Jangseonggun in Jeonnam is launching an agricultural product safety analysis lab. This measure aims to establish a foundation for producing food free from concerns about pesticide residues and heavy metals.
According to Jangseonggun on August 7, the analysis lab has been set up on the second floor of the Advanced Agriculture Technology Building at the county's Agricultural Technology Center. Equipped with high-performance precision instruments, the lab is capable of conducting extensive analyses, including tests for 463 types of pesticide residues, heavy metals in soil, and nutrient solution components. It is also able to respond to the Positive List System (PLS) for pesticide regulation.
Local farmers in Jangseong can use the facility free of charge. They need to bring 1 to 3 kilograms of agricultural products, at least 500 grams of soil, or at least 500 milliliters of nutrient solution, and visit the lab between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays.
