Online Public Voting Held from August 1 to 20
The mascots of Busan Port Authority (BPA), 'Haebeomi and Bbubbu', have advanced to the finals of the 2025 Korea Local Government and Public Character Festival Contest.
On August 1, BPA announced that 'Haebeomi and Bbubbu' have once again reached the national finals this year, following last year's achievement. This contest, co-hosted by Daejeon Tourism Organization and the Korea Cultural Contents Licensing Association, selects outstanding characters owned by local governments and public institutions nationwide through a combination of public voting and expert evaluation.
'Haebeomi and Bbubbu' were recognized for their storytelling, which conveys the image of a clean and safe Busan Port.
The public voting for the finals will be held online for 20 days, from August 1 to August 20, and participants can vote once per day. BPA is also preparing various events using character merchandise to encourage participation.
