View original imageSuncheon City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that the 100th regular concert of the Suncheon City Choir, commemorating its 40th anniversary and featuring the invited "Cardinal Singers," was successfully held on June 12 at the Suncheon Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater, with a large number of citizens in attendance.
The concert featured a variety of performances, including a collaborative stage by the two choirs, a gugak choral piece that offered a modern reinterpretation of Korean traditional sentiment, and selections from the global choral repertoire. These diverse elements deeply moved the audience and were met with enthusiastic applause.
Before the performance, Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu visited the stage rehearsal and presented a letter of appointment to the newly appointed administrative manager, urging them to take pride as an ensemble member and play a central role in advancing the culture and arts of Suncheon City.
A city official stated, "This regular concert serves to promote the status of the Suncheon City Choir both domestically and internationally, and stands as a representative example of the globalization of local culture and arts."
