Guidance on Voting Preparation
and Tips to Prevent Invalid Ballots
On May 26, ahead of the 21st presidential election, the Gwangju Seo-gu Family Center, in collaboration with the Gwangju Metropolitan City Election Commission, conducted voting education for multicultural immigrant women.

View original imageAccording to the center on the 27th, this training was held under the theme "The 21st Presidential Election with Multicultural Families" and included practical voting education such as: providing information on key election dates; learning how to correctly understand policies and pledges before voting; guidance on what to prepare for voting; and tips for preventing invalid ballots.
In particular, visual materials and multilingual resources were provided together to lower language barriers and offer customized education, enabling multicultural voters to easily understand the voting process.
Participants in the training said, "Listening to and experiencing the history of electing the president by voting in Korea gave us an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of democracy," and added, "We will also teach our children about the importance of voting as democratic citizens."
After the training, participants expressed their willingness to participate in voting by holding placards that read, "Vote in the 21st Presidential Election. We are the owners."
Yoon Hyekyung, Director of the Seo-gu Family Center, stated, "Multicultural immigrants must also exercise their rights as proud voters of Korea," and added, "We will continue to support the voting participation of multicultural voters through various customized education and campaigns in the future."
