Subway Construction Sign Topples in Gwangju, Injuring Teenager
A safety sign at the construction site of Gwangju Subway Line 2 fell over, injuring a teenage student.
According to the Gwangju Fire Department and other authorities, at around 1:43 p.m. on April 30, a subway construction information sign installed on a pedestrian walkway in Geumho-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, toppled over.
As a result, a teenage pedestrian nearby was struck by the edge of the sign and suffered a laceration to the forehead. Fortunately, the injury is not life-threatening.
Fire authorities believe that the signboard, which had been set up in the form of a standing sign, was knocked over due to strong winds and are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident.
