Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam has established the "Cheongmyeong-Hansik Wildfire Prevention Special Measures" in response to the Cheongmyeong and Hansik periods, as well as weekends and holidays when wildfire risks are particularly high. The city is mobilizing all available personnel, including public officials, village leaders, and local organizations, to strengthen wildfire prevention guidance and enforcement.

View original imageAs large-scale wildfires have occurred nationwide and the national wildfire disaster crisis alert has been raised to "serious," Changwon City has implemented an administrative order restricting access to all forest areas starting April 1. This measure is intended to proactively block the spread of large wildfires and protect the lives and property of citizens.
Although access to all forest areas has been restricted, for the sake of citizens' health, 64 out of 112 major hiking trails have been completely closed while 48 routes remain open. The city has posted the status of open and closed trails on its official website and has installed informational materials at trail entrances.
In addition, given the high risk that a small spark could lead to a large-scale wildfire in the current dry weather, the city strongly urges citizens to: ▲ refrain from smoking and using fire near forest areas ▲ exercise special caution when using wood boilers ▲ refrain from burning agricultural waste and other refuse. The city plans to enforce strict administrative measures for violations of relevant laws, such as illegal burning.
