Active Presidential Security Service Employee Arrested in the Act for Assaulting Police Officer While Intoxicated
An active-duty employee of the Presidential Security Service was arrested on the spot for assaulting police officers while intoxicated.
The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced on the 21st that at around 10:40 PM on the 20th, a man in his 30s identified as A, an employee of the Presidential Security Service, was arrested on the spot on charges of obstructing official duties.
According to the police, A got into a physical altercation with a colleague at a cafe near Hangang-daero in Yongsan-gu. After a passerby reported the incident, police officers who arrived at the scene were assaulted multiple times in the face by A, causing injuries. It was reported that A refused to present his identification but denied assaulting the police. At the time of arrest, A was reportedly too intoxicated to be questioned.
