Income Stabilization for Forestry Workers Over Two Months in March and April
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province will accept applications for the 2025 Forestry and Forest Public Direct Payment (hereinafter referred to as 'Forestry Direct Payment') from March 1 to April 30.
According to the county on the 19th, the forestry direct payment system is a policy that provides direct payments to forestry workers who produce forest products or are engaged in silviculture, aiming to enhance the public functions of forests and stabilize the income of forestry workers.
Last year, a total of 4,311,330,000 KRW in forestry direct payments was distributed to 1,894 forestry workers in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province. This included 2,756,500,000 KRW for area-based payments, 1,005,610,000 KRW for silviculture payments, 459,910,000 KRW for concurrent business payments, and 38,000,000 KRW for small-scale forestry households.
Forestry workers engaged in forest product production are eligible if they have worked for at least one year (at least 60 days per year) in a registered forest management entity from April 1, 2019, to September 30, 2022, and have annual forest product sales of at least 1,200,000 KRW.
Forestry workers engaged in silviculture must have an approved forest management plan, have worked for at least one year (at least 60 days per year) in a registered forest management entity during the same period, and have a silviculture record of at least 3 hectares over the past 10 years.
This year, for the convenience of forestry workers, the application period for forestry direct payments has been moved forward by one month and extended by one month.
Online applications can be submitted from March 1 to 31 via the 'Forestry-in Integrated Portal.' In-person applications can be submitted by turning in the registration form at the administrative welfare center in the relevant town, township, or neighborhood from April 1 to April 30.
For more details, please contact the forestry department of each city or county, the administrative welfare centers, or the Korea Forest Service's Forestry Direct Payment Consultation Center.
Hwang Sang-guk, Head of the Forest Resources Division, said, "We ask that forestry workers in the area check their eligibility and required documents in advance and apply for direct payments within the application period," adding, "We will continue to actively support income stabilization for forestry workers."
