Namyangju City Implements Measures to Prevent Bus Non-Stop Passes... Improving Public Transportation Service
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 4th that it will actively implement a response plan to prevent buses from passing stops without stopping and to improve public transportation services.
Every year, complaints about inconveniences in using public transportation are increasing due to the rise in public transportation demand and traffic volume. In particular, cases where buses pass stops without stopping or pick up and drop off passengers outside designated stops have been raised as major complaints.
Accordingly, the city plans to select routes with frequent non-stop occurrences, organize inspection teams for the first and second halves of the year, and conduct on-site inspections by arbitrarily designating major bus stops.
In addition, the city intends to enhance promotion of the ‘Seungcha Bell’ service within the Gyeonggi Bus Information app currently operated by Gyeonggi Province to improve convenience for citizens.
The ‘Seungcha Bell’ service allows users to run the Gyeonggi Bus Information app at the bus stop where they wish to board, press the boarding bell button for the stop and bus route, and then the boarding information is sent to the bus driver’s terminal to prevent buses from passing without stopping.
