To address these issues, the county jointly planned and developed '#Ondongne' with DK Tech Inc. starting in 2023 as a replacement for the existing village broadcasting facilities.
Recently, many local governments have also been establishing 'smart village broadcasting systems,' but these require installing a separate app and additional training on how to use the app.
Unlike these, '#Ondongne' ▲does not require a separate app installation, ▲only requires a one-time consent without membership registration, ▲allows easy broadcasting and listening anytime and anywhere based on KakaoTalk if needed, and ▲is designed with an intuitive interface to accommodate digital minorities. Additionally, ▲it supports listening to past broadcasts, ▲allows children living in other regions with elderly parents or those who have moved away to listen together, and ▲automatically makes a second call or sends a text message if the primary broadcast at a specific time is not confirmed.
The county plans to start pilot operations in a total of 36 villages by the end of February, conduct briefing sessions while touring all villages, and operate the platform for all villages starting in March. In particular, the pilot villages will participate in activities such as platform stabilization, error correction, and function improvement.
Governor Jeon Jin-seon of Yangpyeong-gun stated, "For the convenience of our residents, we have become the first in the nation to provide a village broadcasting service using KakaoTalk," and added, "We expect '#Ondongne' to establish itself as a convenient administrative service in daily life and serve as a stepping stone toward a warmer village community."
