Siwoo Kim had a refreshing start.
On the 30th (local time), at the Pebble Beach Golf Links (par 72, 6,972 yards) in California, USA, during the first round of the PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (total prize money $20 million), he shot a 5-under-par 67 to tie for 15th place. Russell Henley leads with 8-under-par 64, while Jake Knapp (both from the USA) and Justin Rose (England) are tied for second place at 7-under-par 65, just one stroke behind, engaging in a chase.
This tournament is a signature event ranked just below the four major championships and The Players Championship. Only 80 players participated, including those ranked within the top 50 in last year's FedEx Cup standings, this year's tour winners, PGA Tour members ranked within the top 30 in the world rankings, and the top 10 FedEx Cup players this year who did not otherwise qualify. The first and second rounds are alternated between Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course (par 72, 7,041 yards), with the third and fourth rounds held at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Siwoo Kim recorded seven birdies and two bogeys. After a birdie on the first hole, the 10th hole (par 4), he stumbled with consecutive bogeys on the 12th and 13th holes but changed the momentum with stepping-stone birdies on the 16th and 18th holes. In the back nine, he raised his position with birdies on the 2nd and 4th holes, followed by consecutive birdies on the 6th and 7th holes. He has shaken off the poor performance that led to a cut-off at last week's Farmers Insurance Open. He is three strokes behind the leader, laying the groundwork for his fifth career win, his first in two years since the Sony Open in January 2023.
