Intops is showing strong performance. It is interpreted to be influenced by the news that LG Electronics has incorporated Bear Robotics in the United States as a subsidiary.
As of 10:04 AM on the 24th, Intops is trading at 21,450 KRW, up 13.94% compared to the previous day.
LG Electronics announced on the 24th that it held a board meeting on the 22nd and resolved to exercise a call option (stock purchase right) to acquire an additional 30% stake in Bear Robotics.
Bear Robotics is an AI-based commercial autonomous robot company established in Silicon Valley, USA, in 2017. It is recognized for its world-class technology in areas such as building robot software (SW) platforms, swarm control technology that moves multiple robots along optimized routes, and cloud control solutions.
In March last year, LG Electronics invested 60 million USD to acquire a 21% stake in Bear Robotics and signed a call option contract to acquire up to an additional 30% stake. Upon completion of the call option exercise, LG Electronics will hold 51% of Bear Robotics shares, securing management rights and incorporating it as a subsidiary.
Through this, LG Electronics will integrate its entire commercial robot business centered on the 'CLOi Robot' with Bear Robotics. Key executives of Bear Robotics, including CEO Ha Jung-woo, will remain in their positions to ensure continuity of existing business, while also participating as board members at LG Electronics to focus on creating synergies in the commercial robot business.
Meanwhile, Intops is building a stable reference in the robot business. It is known to be exclusively entrusted with the contract manufacturing of Bear Robotics' serving robots, 'Servi' and 'Servi Plus,' in the United States.
