Park Chan-dae: "If the prosecution obstructs the Security Office investigation, they will vanish like powder"
Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, asserted on the 21st, "The prosecution should not obstruct the investigation of the hardline core members of the Security Office and must actively cooperate."
At the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Park said, "The prosecution's suspicious rejection of the warrant has stalled the police investigation into the Security Office."
He criticized, "Kim Seong-hoon, deputy director of the Security Office, and Lee Kwang-woo, head of security, were released yesterday because the prosecution rejected the arrest warrant for Deputy Director Kim. Kim is a special public official obstructing the execution of a lawful arrest warrant by the court and was the person who, when Yoon Seok-yeol asked at the Security Office chiefs' lunch just before the arrest if they could shoot, replied, 'Yes, understood.'"

Given such serious charges, including the possibility of evidence destruction and retaliation against Security Office staff, I cannot understand the rejection of the arrest warrant application."
Park warned, "I strongly suspect that the prosecution is only indicting a few key figures involved in the rebellion and important mission personnel and is trying to roughly cover up the rebellion investigation. If that is truly their intention, the prosecution is destined to vanish like dust."

He raised his voice, saying, "If not, the prosecution should not obstruct the investigation of the hardline core members of the Security Office and must actively cooperate. The prosecution's incomprehensible behavior is ironically explaining why a special investigation into the rebellion is necessary. The special investigation must thoroughly investigate the ringleaders and their remnants without any suspicion."
