Also known as the Davos Forum, the WEF is an annual event where global leaders gather to discuss international issues. Marking its 55th edition this year, the WEF was held under the theme "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age." With the attendance of key figures from governments and industries worldwide, in-depth discussions on the AI sector are ongoing.
In particular, this forum features sessions where AI experts such as Yoshua Bengio, a world authority in deep learning and professor at the University of Montreal, and Andrew Ng, a professor at Stanford University who led AI research at Google and Baidu, come together to deeply explore the present and future of AI technology.
Since first participating online as a "Technology Pioneer" at the WEF during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Lunit attended the 2023 WEF as a "Global Innovator," and in 2024, among over 1,000 WEF member companies, it became the first global medical AI company to participate as an "Associate Partner," gradually solidifying its position on the global stage.
At this year’s WEF, CEO Beom-seok Seo plans to meet with health officials from various governments and leaders in the global medical and pharmaceutical industries to discuss strategic cooperation plans. Especially, global representative network events like the WEF serve as important venues for Lunit’s ongoing pursuit of inorganic growth (a business expansion model through external factors such as mergers and acquisitions). Last year, Lunit achieved successful market expansion in the breast cancer diagnosis field through the acquisition of Volpara Health.
At this forum, Lunit plans to discover new growth engines by discussing strategic partnerships with leading companies in the global medical and pharmaceutical industries and strengthening B2G cooperation. Additionally, through exchanges with global political and economic leaders, Lunit aims to promote its technology and vision, broaden insights into the medical AI market, and concretize future growth strategies.
