The city, together with Chungnam Province, is implementing export support measures such as support for developing overseas export markets, joint marketing support for promising export items, fostering leading organizations for agricultural product exports, and support for export packaging materials.
In addition, last year, four local companies participated in the LA Korean Festival promotion event and sold out their agricultural specialties. The city also dispatched a market development team to Vietnam, achieving its first exports of Gongju chestnuts and processed foods.
From the 16th to the 20th, the city will simultaneously hold the 'Winter Gongju Chestnut Festival & Korea Chestnut Industry Expo' with H-Mart in the United States and locally, and exported 2.6 tons of Gongju chestnuts for the event.
Mayor Choi Woncheol stated, "Going forward, we will continue to pursue policies to maximize local farmers' profits by developing strategic export products and expanding exports through close cooperation between the city and export farms (companies)."
