Seoul City Increases Express and Intercity Bus Services During Lunar New Year Holiday
Operation Increased by 654 Trips to Transport About 77,000 Passengers
Seoul City is supporting citizens' travel to and from their hometowns by increasing the operation of express and intercity buses ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the 15th, the city announced that it has prepared the '2025 Terminal Operation Plan for the Lunar New Year Holiday' and established measures to increase bus operations and manage facilities during the holiday period.
The increased operation will be carried out for 11 days from January 24 to February 3. At the four express bus terminals in Seoul ? ▲Seoul Express Bus Terminal ▲Central City Terminal ▲Dong Seoul Terminal ▲Seoul Nambu Terminal ? the daily average number of operations will increase by 654 trips and accommodate about 19,000 more passengers, transporting a total of approximately 77,000 passengers.
In addition, facility inspections will be conducted to ensure convenient use of the terminals during the holiday. The condition of ticket counters, waiting rooms, restrooms, and other facilities will be checked, along with safety inspections of equipment. Joint safety inspections by the city and district offices will be conducted at the four terminals before the holiday, and a traffic control center will be operated during the holiday to monitor travel conditions.

Yeo Jang-kwon, Director of Transportation at Seoul City, said, "Since this year’s holiday is long and active regional movement is expected, we will do our best to provide transportation convenience for citizens’ smooth travel to and from their hometowns." He added, "We ask that passengers wear masks when using transportation to prevent respiratory diseases such as the flu, which is currently spreading."
