Gyeonggi Office of Education Initiates Development of Appropriate Scale School Model
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is launching an initiative to foster 'appropriately sized schools' to address the decline in school-age population and reduce educational disparities between regions.
Starting in January, the Office of Education announced on the 15th that it plans to develop the Gyeonggi-type Appropriately Sized School Optimization Model (5C) through regional consultations (consulting) by education support offices and present a future-oriented model for regional co-growth based on this.
To this end, the Office of Education plans to actively gather opinions from the Gyeonggi education community, including parents, faculty, and students, by holding parent briefings and regional meetings.
The Office of Education expects that this policy initiative will strengthen schools' roles as community hubs and enable the establishment of a new educational model that grows together with local communities.

An official from the Office of Education emphasized, "This regional consultation will serve as an opportunity for fostering appropriately sized schools that promote growth for both schools and communities," adding, "We will further strengthen cooperation with the educational community and local society to provide better learning environments for students and more efficient work environments for faculty."
