Daejeon City to Provide Infertility Treatment Subsidies for Small Business Owners and Self-Employed Couples
Up to 700,000 KRW in Out-of-Pocket Expenses Covered
Daejeon City announced that it will implement the "Infertility Treatment Support Project for Small Business Owners," which aims to help local small business owners and self-employed couples struggling with infertility as part of efforts to overcome low birth rates.
The beneficiaries are small business owners in Daejeon who are already receiving financial support for infertility treatment costs through the public health centers of Daejeon's autonomous districts. The city will cover the out-of-pocket expenses not covered by existing support, up to a maximum of 700,000 KRW per couple. To qualify, applicants must reside in Daejeon and have operated a business in Daejeon for at least six months.
Additionally, the city plans to run a "Healing Camp for Infertile Couples" (tentative name) to provide emotional support for small business owners and self-employed couples facing infertility.
Kwon Kyungmin, Director of Economic Affairs at Daejeon City, said, "We hope this project will be of great help to small business owners and self-employed people in Daejeon who are struggling with infertility amid a sluggish economy, weakened consumer sentiment, and rising costs."
