Dongjak-gu Expands Installation of Village Bus Information Terminals to 15 Locations
Expansion of Information Terminals and Boarding Platforms This Year as Well
Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 9th that it has expanded the installation of the ‘Dongjak-gu Type Village Bus Information Terminal’ to alleviate the waiting inconvenience of village bus users and improve the convenience of using public transportation.

Accordingly, the district invested about 130 million KRW from its budget to increase the distribution rate of the information terminals and provide resident-centered transportation services, completing additional installations.
Previously, in August last year, the district selected 15 exclusive village bus stops within the area based on factors such as the average daily number of passengers, the number of bus routes, residents’ demands, and the surrounding environment, and has been installing and operating the information terminals there.
Meanwhile, since last year, the district has been constructing ‘Dongjak-gu Type Village Bus Shelters’ with Dongjak-gu’s unique design at 40 stops that are either outdated or lack boarding platforms. Moving away from the uniform form of only shelters and benches, the design was tailored to each stop’s conditions such as sidewalk width and installed facilities, and convenience features like heated seats and air conditioners/heaters have been added so that residents can use them comfortably regardless of the weather.
The district plans to invest a total budget of 1.072 billion KRW secured this year to expand necessary facilities such as Dongjak-gu Type Information Terminals and shelters at stops within the district.
