View original imageThe Gwangju City Council's Environment and Welfare Committee (Chairperson Choi Jihyun) celebrated the New Year on January 8 by volunteering to serve tteokguk to approximately 600 people with disabilities at the Gwangju City Disabled Welfare Center, in cooperation with the Gwangju Disabled Love Welfare Association.
On this day, Chairperson Choi Jihyun, along with other city council members and staff from the committee, participated in the meal service, carefully serving food to the center's users and exchanging New Year's greetings. For those with mobility difficulties, meals were delivered directly to their seats, and the volunteer activity concluded with dishwashing and handling of leftovers.
Chairperson Choi Jihyun stated, "Welcoming the Year of Eulsanyeon, I was pleased and fulfilled to meet the users of the welfare center in person, listen to their concerns, and share warmth through volunteer work. The Gwangju City Council will continue to pay more attention to and care for our neighbors who are marginalized and struggling, and contribute to the development of our local community."
