Yangcheon Residents Receive 30% Tuition Discount for 5 Cyber Universities
Yangcheon-gu Signs Educational Cooperation Agreement with Cyber University
Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gijae) announced on the 30th that it will provide a 30% tuition discount every semester through educational cooperation with cyber universities to expand lifelong learning opportunities for residents and reduce their economic burden.

View original imageThe universities that have signed agreements with the district are a total of five: Seoul Digital University, Kyung Hee Cyber University, Soongsil Cyber University, Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and Sejong Cyber University.
The district explained, “Cyber universities operate bachelor's degree programs 100% online, allowing stable and convenient learning without time and location constraints, and we are expanding educational cooperation with cyber universities accordingly.”
Since signing the first agreement with Seoul Digital University in 2021, the district has gradually expanded agreements by additionally signing with Kyung Hee and Soongsil Cyber Universities last year, and Sejong and Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies this year, thereby broadening the range of learning options for Yangcheon residents. Through cooperation with these universities, any Yangcheon resident can receive a 30% tuition discount benefit every semester.
Meanwhile, to support middle-aged and older adults in obtaining professional qualifications and linking to employment, the district has been operating a social worker certification class in collaboration with Baekseok Culture University since August. Through this, Yangcheon residents receive scholarships equivalent to 30% of the tuition every semester, can also receive additional benefits from national scholarships, and can obtain a Level 2 Social Worker certificate after completing the education.
In addition, the district is strengthening cooperation with external educational institutions such as prestigious domestic universities and cyber universities to provide high-quality lifelong education programs to residents, including operating the relay lecture series “Yangcheon Knowledge Brunch,” where professors from Seoul National University give direct lectures.
